I’m sincerely sorry for the unsuccessful attempt to rescue you. In a moment of madness I believed the right thing to do was to set you free. I felt that you weren’t living up to your full potential. Spending your life outside of the front door of the Novotel will not give you a sense of purpose! You should be in a beautiful woodland, beside your brothers and sisters, living a life of complete freedom. Your roots should not be confined to the limits of a bland, generic blue pot. You should be allowed to grow in any direction you wish!! My attempt at freeing you was scuppered by your overlords!! I apologise sincerely that the outcome wasn’t different. I’m sorry tree, I truly am. One day I hope that you are able to share the air of your native ancestors. Until then, I wish you well!!xx
